Hyponatremia, another name for sodium deficiency is not a very common problem in adults. The sodium content of the blood decreases and cause sodium deficiency.  In adults, when the sodium level goes below 130mM, the person starts experiencing hyponatremia symptoms. Treating this condition with sodium supplements in adults is quite simple and effective. The sodium supplements contain certain specific amount of sodium that will help in overcoming the deficiency. The sodium supplements are available in different forms and can be taken according to the recommendation of the doctor. Many supplements are available for refilling the sodium levels in the blood. Once the diagnosis is made properly by the health care specialist, suitable treatment is provided.  One has to make sure that the sodium supplements are suiting the patient. If the person has severe sodium deficiency then they are given hypertonic sodium chloride solution. The amount of sodium chloride given to the patient can vary from 0.5 to 3% according to the severity.
