Calcium supplement interactions

Some of the calcium supplements interactions include:

Osteoporosis medications - Calcium supplements can interfere with the certain medication which is used in the treatment of osteoporosis. So it is safe to take calcium-containing products at least 2 hours before and after these medications.

Anti-seizure medications - Some seizure medications with calcium supplements may lower the calcium level in the body. So most of the doctors recommend vitamin D while having anti-seizure drugs because it maintains the calcium levels up.

Antacids that contain aluminum - When calcium supplements is taken with aluminum that having antacids, the quantity of aluminum absorption in the blood will increase notably.

Blood pressure medications - Taking calcium supplements with blood pressure medications may interfere with blood calcium level and leads to major disorders.

Medications used for lowering cholesterol - These medications may interfere with normal absorbing process of calcium and reduce the amount of calcium in the urine.

Diuretics – Most of the medications of diuretics interact with calcium supplements in opposite ways.

Estrogens - Estrogens may lead to an overall increase of calcium in blood. Consuming calcium supplements with estrogens meliorates bone density extensively.

Antibiotics – most of the calcium supplements interact with certain antibiotics and may result in toxic effects such as kidney failure.
